Our Classroom

(18 months – age 3)

  • The formative years for children are crucial. Maria Montessori believed that exposing children from a young age to the carefully constructed classroom environment was crucial to maximize their growth and potential.

  • From the first day your toddler steps into our classroom, we are working with them to develop confidence, sense of competence and communication skills. The classroom is built up as the year progresses and the children normalize. We begin with basic routines, such as finding cubby areas, changing into indoor shoes, taking out work mats and working towards completing simple lessons.

  • In the classroom, children work independently, observing others, and expressing their curiosity and creativity. A self-care area fosters toilet awareness and independence in maintaining personal hygiene (such as learning how to wipe one’s nose and wash hands independently).

  • A snack area is a part of the classroom space and children are encouraged to exercise their table setting skills, eating snacks and cleaning up their area by putting away their snack.

  • A sleeping area with individual floor beds/mats that allows toddlers to exercise autonomy in preparing for rest and allows them to get up independently once rested.

  • Parents are encouraged to walk their child to the door, rather than carry them. This helps for a smoother and happier transition into the classroom.

  • Come and visit our classroom and meet our highly trained, skilled staff who help facilitate each child's independent growth.
